Jim Brumm: Long-Term Thinking for a Short-Sighted World

As we watch President Obama try to effect change in Washington on major issues like health care, energy, and economic reform, and see the foot dragging and resistance from special-interest groups and lobbyists, it's obvious that now is the time we must begin to change our thinking and take a long-term perspective on the problems that face our country and the world. We cannot continue to allow our politicians to base their decisions soley on how they will affect jobs right now. If we don't take the actions today, even if there is some short-term pain, we will not only lose those same jobs, but our economy, our future, and perhaps our world.
